18th January 2005 - A hints section for Motorola handsets (primarily the triplets and V3 initially) has been added to the site.  At the moment it only contains a guide on how to install games via BlueTooth, but if you have any hints and tips let me know and I'll add them to the site.

14th January 2005 - We're rapidly coming to the stage where we will have to decide whether to remove some of the older dismantles or move to a host with more web space as the site is nearing the 30 meg marker.  I'd like opinions on what you would like to see happen.  Obviously if we move to another host this will incur a cost which I'd rather avoid (especially as donations (see the bottom of this page) have been a bit thin on the ground).  This site is for your benefit so let's hear your ideas.  I've got a few SonyEricsson (T100, T200, T230, T630, Z200, Z600 & P900) dismantles which I'd like to add which will push the site over the limit for size.  Does anyone want these dismantles uploading or should I just not bother anymore?

14th January 2005 - Dismantle instructions added for Nokia models:- 3200, 3220, 5140, 6100, 6260, 6610i, 6630, 7270 and 8910/i.

20th November 2004 - Dismantle instructions added for Nokia 2300 and Nokia 2650.

9th November 2004 - All images on the site are now visibly and invisibly watermarked.  I've always resisted visibly marking the images as this can make them less clear.  However, due to problems with FoneFunShop.co.uk using content without permission and the subsequent abusive emails received from them, I have been left with no alternative.  If you don't like the visible watermarking, then I'm afraid that's just tough luck - it's not us you need to complain to!

1st September 2004 - New version of Crux's Unlock code calculator has been uploaded to the site (v2.31)

31st August 2004 - Due to hot-linking of images and applications, I've done some renaming of files and images on the site.  I don't mind anyone linking to the site, but I do have a major problem with people leeching the content and passing it off as their own.  The main culprits for this recently have been R-Points forum, PalmForum and ReDeGSM.  To their credit, ReDeGSM have taken action and closed the part of their forum that was causing problems.  At the moment, anyone hot-linking to images will soon find that the images will be replaced with something like this.  But if this behaviour continues, they may well find that more extreme steps may be taken.

30th July 2004 - New ASIC-6 unlock calculator added to the site.  This one unlocks the new Nokias (6230 etc) as well as many other brands.

17th July 2004 - Copyright information updated for many of the Ericsson dismantles.

15th July 2004 - New dismantles added.  Nokia 7600, 6650, 7610, 6820 & 7200.  Also, the T68/i dismantle has been updated.

July 2004 - After a brief discussion in uk.telecom.mobile Steve Terry's Orange contacts list has been added to the site.  You can find this under the extras section.

June 2004 - As you may have noticed, the site has had a *slight* facelift!  Whilst I quite liked the old site, it looked appalling at anything but 1280x1024.  This new look for the site should make it considerably more accessible, and I hope you all enjoy it.

As well as the facelift, there are many more models now covered.  Needless to say, this complete re-write of the site has been very time consuming and has involved a great deal of hard work, which brings me to a slight problem - I've had a couple of instances lately with people stealing site content and selling it as their own.  This site is compiled as a free resource to the mobile phone community and I will not tolerate anyone making money from it by re-selling the content.  All the images on the site are now digitally watermarked, and I would appreciate being informed at fraud@uselessinfo.org.uk if you come across anyone republishing the site in any form.

There is now an Extras section in which you'll find a few bits and pieces that might prove useful including an unlock code generator, links to external resources, a for sale section and more.
