Ericsson K600 & Variants

When dismantling any phone, great care should be taken to ensure that no damage is caused to any of the parts.  Rough handling may result in severe damage of many parts, and if proper anti-static procedures are not followed, electrostatic damage may result in any electronic component.

Before commencing, it is recommended that the correct tools are purchased for the job in hand - at the very least, you will require a Torx T6 screwdriver..

 

Step 1.  Push the two locking catches down.

  

Step 2.  Remove battery cover.

 

Step 3.  Remove the battery.

 

Step 4.  Remove the four Torx T6 screws indicated below and keep them safe.
 

 

Step 5.  Use a thin plastic shim to release the clips on the left side of the phone.  The USB cover will more than likely fall out whilst you do this, so keep it safe.
 

Step 6.  Now use your shim to release the clips on the opposite side of the phone.

Step 7.  Now lift up the rear case and remove it.
 

Step 8.  Push on the number 2 digit on the keypad to release the PCB.

Step 9.  Separate the PCB from the case.

Step 10.  Fold the keypad up.

Step 11.  Release the joystick button by carefully bending upwards.

Step 12.  Release the glued side buttons flex using a pick and take care not to damage them.

Step 13.  Open the ZIF connector and remove the flex.

Step 14.  Take note of the gap between the screen and PCB.

Step 15.  Insert a pick or similar into the gap and carefully lever the screen free.

Step 16.  Remove the protection sheet (please note that this should not be reused).

Step 17.  Open the ZIF connector and release the screen flex.

Step 18.  Disconnect the receiver connector using a pick.

Step 19.  Now remove the receiver.

Step 20.  Remove the three screws indicated below using a small Philips screwdriver.

Step 21.  Insert a shim into the gap between the camera connector and the PCB and carefully release the connector.

Step 22.  Release the frame by unhooking the four clips - Clip 1

Step 23.  Clip 2.

Step 24.  Clip 3.

Step 25.  Clip 4.

Step 26.  Release the aerial frame by releasing the three clips indicated below.

Step 27.  Open the ZIF connector and remove the aerial.

Step 28.  If the flash light packing is damaged, remove it using tweezers.

Step 29.  Press on the edge of the frame and on the top of the flash light to remove it.

Step 30.  Remove the camera grommet taking care not to touch the lens.

Step 31.  Use tweezers to remove the videophone button.

Step 32.  Remove the volume keys.

Step 33.  Remove the internet key.

Step 34.  Use a pick to remove the microphone.

Step 35.  Remove the camera using a pick or simply grasp it in your fingers and lift straight up.

Step 36.  Remove the USB cover (if it didn't fall out earlier).

Step 37.  The USB cover is in the rear for the K600 and K608...

Step 38.  and in the front case for the V600.

Step 39.  Use tweezers to remove the vibra motor.

Step 40.  The loudspeaker is glued in place and a new gasket should be used if it is removed.

Step 41.  Use a small Philips screwdriver to remove the screw shown below and remove the camera cover.

Step 42.  Replace the bearing if necessary.

Step 43.  The magnet is glued in place.
