Siemens C62 & Variants

When dismantling any phone, great care should be taken to ensure that no damage is caused to any of the parts.  Rough handling may result in severe damage of many parts, and if proper anti-static procedures are not followed, electrostatic damage may result in any electronic component.

Before commencing, it is recommended that the correct tools are purchased for the job in hand - at the very least, a Torx T5 screwdriver will be required.  However, the T5 is extremely difficult to get hold of, so you may have to manage with a slightly worn T6 instead.  If you do use a T6, be very careful not to damage the screw heads.

Step 1.    Remove the battery cover.

Step 2.  Remove the battery.

Step 3.  To remove the aerial cover it's recommended that you use the correct tool.

Step 4.  However, a screwdriver can be just as effective at releasing the clips holding the cover in place.

Step 5.  If you unlatch the two clips shown below the cover can be easily removed.

Step 6.  Now lift away the aerial cover.

Step 7.  Remove the four screws and store them safely.

Step 8.  Remove the B cover.

Step 9.  Lift out the main board by raising it from the base....

Step 10.  And then lift it out of the chassis.

Step 11.  Turn the main board over.

Step 12.  Raise the LCD screen to give access to the screen flex.

Step 13.  The flex is held in place by a ZIF socket.

Step 14.  Lift the bar to release the flex.

Step 15.  Remove the microphone.

Step 16.  Lift the audio cap up to disconnect it.

Step 17.  The speaker is glued in place.

Step 18.  Carefully remove the speaker.

Step 19.  Remove the speaker gasket.

Step 20.  Remove the vibra motor.

Step 21.  Peel the dome sheet away from the main board.

Step 22.  Push the pogo pins down to release them from the B cover.

Step 23.  Turn the B cover over and pull the release pogo pins out.

Step 24.  Use tweezers to remove the ear piece.

Step 25.  Remove the key mat.
