Panasonic G70 & Variants

When dismantling any phone, great care should be taken to ensure that no damage is caused to any of the parts.  Rough handling may result in severe damage of many parts, and if proper anti-static procedures are not followed, electrostatic damage may result in any electronic component.

Before commencing, it is recommended that the correct tools are purchased for the job in hand - at the very least, you will require a Torx T6 screwdriver.

Step 1.  Separate the base cover by carefully lifting from around the phone jack.

Step 2.  Remove the aerial covers (left and right) unscrew the two screws on the aerial assembly and then dismount it.

Step 3.  Remove the four screws in the base.

Step 4.  Release the base holder.

Step 5.  Take out the speaker and remove the two screws shown below.

Step 6.  Lift the circuit board to about 45 degrees and then pull it away.

Step 7.  Raise the second circuit board and disconnect screen, speaker and key pad connectors prior to removing the board.

Step 8.  Remove the vibra motor and microphone.

Step 9.  Push the shaft of the hinge out.

Step 10.  Release the hinge from one side.

Step 11.  Now remove the hinge pin completely to disassemble the hinge.

Step 12.  Remove the key mat.

Step 13.  Push the hinge cover out.

Step 14.  Fully open the case and use a small screwdriver to help separate the case.

Step 15.  Carefully curl the screen flex and pull it out of the base.

Step 16.  Push the screen lens forward and remove it starting from the bottom.

Step 17.  Remove the two screws shown below and lift the frame from the top.

Step 18.  Carefully pull the LCD screen from the chassis.

Step 19.  Push the key knob base of its hook.

Step 20.  Remove the key knob and spring.

Step 21.  Reassembly is a simple reversal of the above steps taking extra time to ensure that everything works as it should, and that you have caused no damage whilst inside the handset.
