Panasonic G60 & Variants

When dismantling any phone, great care should be taken to ensure that no damage is caused to any of the parts.  Rough handling may result in severe damage of many parts, and if proper anti-static procedures are not followed, electrostatic damage may result in any electronic component.

Before commencing, it is recommended that the correct tools are purchased for the job in hand - at the very least, you will require a Torx T6 screwdriver.

Step 1.  Remove the battery cover and battery.

Step 2.  Remove the four screws at the base of the phone.

Step 3.  Carefully prise the case and cover apart at the base and insert a plastic shim at point (A) below.  Move your shim up the body of the phone to release the clips.

Step 4.  Separate the case and cover by gently twisting.

Step 5.  Use a Torx T5 screwdriver to remove the two aerial screws.

Step 6.  Now lift the aerial assembly away.

Step 7.  Lift the main circuit board away from the fascia.

Step 8.  Remove the key mat.

Step 9.  Remove the microphone and speaker using a small flat bladed screwdriver.

Step 10.  Remove the vibra motor.

Step 11.  Remove the LCM bracket from the main board.  This is held in place by small clips which can be released using a small screwdriver.

Step 12.  Now lift the keyboard assembly away.

Step 13.  To remove the shielding you have to cut six points in the shielding itself.  Bear in mind that if you do this you will need to replace the shielding completely.

Step 14.  With the cuts done, remove the shielding.

Step 15.  Remove the speaker from the aerial assembly.

Step 16.  Reassembly is a simple reversal of the above steps taking extra time to ensure that everything works as it should, and that you have caused no damage whilst inside the handset.
